Health awareness bowling event for men with Learning Disabilities and/or Autism

Hounslow Council, Imperial College Healthcare and Hounslow & Richmond Community Healthcare have partnered to deliver a fun and interactive health awareness event for vulnerable men and their caregivers to help raise awareness around cancer and screening.

This informal, engaging, and fun event will offer plenty of tea, cakes, and games whilst raising awareness for men’s health and tackling cancer head-on.

Here’s what attendees will learn:

  • Signs and Symptoms: Learn what to watch out for. Early detection matters!
  • Screening Information: Understand the importance of regular screenings.
  • Who to Talk To: Discover who you can reach out to if you have concerns
  • Prostate Cancer: A common concern affecting many men, with approximately 48,600 cases reported annually in the UK1.
  • Testicular Cancer: An essential topic for awareness, especially among younger men.
  • Breast Cancer: Yes, men can develop breast cancer too, although it’s less common.
  • Bowel Cancer: Vital information about this type of cancer will be shared.
